GEM is facilitating the development of several large scale Residential Housing Projects in both the Public and Private sector in various countries. We are working in cooperation with the government, Financial Institutions and Multi National companies to develop high quality and affordable building and financing solutions for the growing middle class. The housing deficit is tens of thousands in these countries and GEM has established a solid business model and strong working relationships with key stakeholders to close the gap. These projects will have a significant socioeconomic impact in these countries
Agribusiness Sector
Senegal
GEM has developed a Public – Private Joint Venture model to revolutionize the Agricultural and Rice Value Chain sector in Senegal. Working closely with our technical partners, the government of Senegal and key stakeholders within the agricultural sector, GEM has developed a Rice Value Chain Pilot Program that is currently in the final stages of development and moving into the implementation phase. We are facilitating this process both on the ground in Senegal and in the United States. The objective of this program is to help move Senegal from over 85% dependence on Rice Exports to a greater level of Self Sufficiency and Food Security. The outcomes of this program will lead to a significant reduction of hunger and poverty as well as substantial economic development in Senegal.
Infrastructure Development Sector
Cameroon
GEM Senior Partner, Moustapha Diop has facilitated the financing of a $25 million Heavy Equipment loan the Ex-Im Bank to the government of Cameroon. This transaction serves as a model for West and Central African Nations that are seeking to improve their infrastructure and obtain financing through Ex-Im Bank. This model was developed through a very comprehensive and collaborative approach between all of the key stakeholders.
Telecommunications Sector:
Central Africa Republic
GEM is in the process of signing an MOU and preliminary financing agreement with the government of Central Africa which will entail the turn key development of a large scale telecommunications network. This network will be vital to the countries long term security and economic developoment.
Renewable Energy Sector Opportunities
West and Central Africa offer vast opportunities for Renewable Energy Companies to expand in the Housing, Infrastructure and Agribusiness Sectors. GEM is currently in the process of establishing PPP/BOOT developmental funding agreements between West African governments, IBE and Multi National companies that have the capabilities to expand into the West and Central Africa Market. We have identified and qualified several opportunities in both the Public and Private Sector that offer substantial growth opportunities. The Renewable Energy Sector is a high priority initiative for many African Governments as well as International Development Finance Agencies.
Cameroon, Guinea, Central Africa
GEM has signed an MOU with several governments in West and Central Africa and is currently in the process of facilitating the development of Public Private Partnerships and BOOT agreements in the Hydroelectric Energy, Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Housing sectors.
